Funeral Home in Decatur, IL area is seeking an experienced Funeral Director/Embalmer.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES AND REQUIREMENTS:

• Active and In Good Standing Funeral Directing and Embalming License with the state
• Arrange and conduct funeral and memorial ceremonies in a professional, organized, and caring manner
• Care for the deceased respectfully while performing a variety of tasks, which include removals and transfers; embalming; dressing; cosmetizing; and casketing. Strong embalming skills required.
• Arrange for and oversee interment or cremation of human remains
• Prepare necessary legal paperwork, including contracts, authorizations, death certificates and transit permits
• Assist families wishing to prearrange or prepay funeral arrangements
• Good understanding of computers and standard software including, MS Word, MS Excel, and Electronic Death Registry System
• Ability to serve and maintain several families in a given time period
• Excellent communication skills
• Detail oriented
• High level of empathy and compassion
• Ability to work weekends and evenings according to schedule
• Clean driving record

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $50,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
