Funeral Director / Mortician

The successful candidate is a professional, well mannered, compassionate individual who is dedicated to providing quality service to our grieving families. He/she will provide excellent customer service while attending to all the clients' needs. A neat, clean, well kept appearance is a must.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

- Meeting with families, arranging and performing funerals with a positive and professional approach.- Working with fellow employees and other agencies and vendors to coordinate services, order merchandise, schedule burials, process insurance claims, prepare documentation for burial, cremation, or transport, etc.- Assist with the setup and scheduling of visitations.- Embalm, dress and cosmetize the deceased- Office duties include use of fax machine, computer, typewriter, a/v system, etc.- Adhere to state, federal and company regulations while performing daily tasks- Removals when necessary- Operation of all funeral home vehicles when necessary- Assist in all other tasks associated with the funeral home or services when needed

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

- Graduation from accredited mortuary college- Maryland Mortician's License

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

- 1 years experience as a funeral director/ embalmer required (3+ years preferred)- Previous experience in customer service is a plus- Knowledge of some computer software is required (microsoft excel, publisher, word)- Knowledge of SmartDirector funeral software is a plus

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

- High level of integrity- Good Communication Skills (both written and oral)- Must be an Articulate public speaker- Good problem solver- Ability to work at mulltiple locations in Baltimore, MD- Professional Team Player- Proof of current driver's license and good driving record a must
