Overview: Customer Service Support Specialist
NorthStar Memorial Group is seeking a Customer Service Support Specialist for our Home Office in the Galleria area of Houston. Customer Service Support Specialists are responsible for ensuring client satisfaction with the services received from NorthStar, as well as assisting in collections. This person will also partner with the sales and customer service management team to ensure all issues are resolved and plans are set to continue the quality growth of the group.
Responsibilities
• Confer with customers by telephone or in person to provide information about products or services, take or enter orders, cancel accounts, or obtain details of complaints.
• Check to ensure that appropriate changes were made to resolve customers' problems.
• Keep records of customer interactions, recording details of inquiries, complaints, or comments, as well as actions taken in the computer system.
• Resolve customer complaints and comments, forwarding as necessary to the Customer Service Supervisor.
• Recommend improvements in products, packaging, services, or billing methods and procedures to prevent future problems.
• Follow-up with customers and internal management to ensure the satisfactory resolution of customer services issues.
• Handles escalated customer concerns
Qualifications
• Minimum of 1+ years of experience in a call center environment
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Exceptional listening skills - Providing full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times
• Strong verbal communication skills - Talking to others to convey information effectively as well as communicating information and ideas in a way that others will understand
• Ability to persuade others to change their minds or behavior
• Service oriented mentality - Actively looking for ways to help people
• Reading Comprehension - Understanding written sentences and paragraphs in work related documents
• Critical Thinking - Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems
• Ability to listen and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences
• Problem Sensitivity - The ability to tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong. It does not involve solving the problem, only recognizing there is a problem
• Deductive Reasoning - The ability to apply general rules to specific problems to produce answers that make sense
• Speech Recognition - The ability to identify and understand the speech of another person
• Speech Clarity - The ability to speak clearly so others can understand you
