Ministry Coordinator, Funerals
The Ministry Coordinator, Funerals provides clerical and administrative assistance supporting funeral operations. The Ministry Coordinator, Funerals is responsible for customer intake which includes meeting the public, answering questions and providing information on funeral services.
Maintain the Congregational Care List by contacting members for updated information by checking the pastoral care email inbox, regarding hospitalizations and funeral services for accuracy weekly.
Manage logistics for funeral services including, scheduling rooms, booking caterer, greeting funeral home, maintaining supplies for repast team (inventory management and serving during repast), and other funeral needs. Submit check requests for repast food payments.
Greet and receive families and/or other persons entering the office for information and assistance.
Answer telephones courteously and in a polite manner, assisting on funeral, memorial and other services or ceremonies as requested by the Pastor, Care.
Accommodate the needs of the family during a service and/or visitation.
Arrange floral offerings or lights around casket (memorial services only).
Direct, instruct, or escort the public before and after funeral services.
Distribute programs for funeral services.
Communicate to staff/team upcoming funerals and needs.
Manage updates to member data reports related to funeral care.
Coordinate hospital visits with members.
Prepare travel arrangements for out-of-town funerals for Pastors, Elders, Deacons and Deaconess as requested/approved (hotels, vehicle reservations, air travel).
Distribute checks to approved applicants via mail or by personal retrieval of applicant.
Coordinate teams of volunteers as requested.
Attend and successfully completes all training required by Concord Church.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience
This position requires a minimum of an associate degree. A minimum of three (3) years of ministry coordination or event planning/project management experience is required.
Requires advanced proficiency in the Microsoft applications which include Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, in addition to experience with Microsoft Teams, Zoom, Survey Monkey, and other comparable tools.
Ability to securely handle confidential information is required.
Advanced Skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook), and web savvy.
Attention to detail to minimize errors.
Basic knowledge of religious and fraternal organizations ceremonies/customs.
Exceptional organizational skills and time management skills.
Physical Requirements
Work is conducted in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment.
The ability to manage stress and maintain composure in difficult situations, build professional, collaborative relationships.
A flexible schedule is required since this position requires weekend work. This position may be expected to work overtime.
