We Are Hiring: Apprentice / Licensed Funeral Director / Embalmer

Consider the possibilities of joining Blessing Funeral Home as a Part-time Student.

Blessing Funeral Home is looking for an energetic Part-time Student open to learn everything about working at a funeral home.

Blessing Funeral Home is owned and operated by the Lucas Family where you will be able to learn both Funeral Directing and Embalming at one location.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

Learn to care for a deceased in a respectful manner while performing a variety of tasks which include:

Verifying identification and embalming authorization.

Assist on funeral services, and visitations.

Completing removals and transfers.

Learn Dressing, styling hair and/or applying cosmetics.

Learning required documentation like death certificates, permits etc..

Graduation pending or in good standing from an accredited mortuary college as required by state /province law Certification/Licenses:

Must be eligible for Provisional Licensing requirements in applicable state/province as required by law as prescribed by each state board.

Valid driver’s license/ Acceptable driving record.

Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift over 75 pounds.

Standing for 2 – 3 hours

Knowledge of computers and some software including MS Office products required.

Good communication skills.

Problem solving skills.

Must be able to work from 9am – 5pm,  rotating weekends, and on-call overnight bases.

Willing to work with school schedule as well.
