Funeral Director and Embalmer

This position will operate primarily at our funeral home in Bolivar, Tennessee but will also travel to other locations (Henderson, Tennessee, Selmer, Tennessee, Savannah, Tennessee, and Waynesboro, Tennessee) as circumstances require.

Qualifications

Associate's degree from an accredited mortuary college
Current Funeral Director and Embalmer license
Adaptability
Excellent communication, both written and spoken
Customer service

Essential Functions

Meet with families to discuss, organize, and document funeral arrangements
Provide information regarding funeral-related service and merchandise fees
Execute funeral/memorial service plans as discussed to the families' satisfaction
Place any necessary orders to fulfill family wishes (caskets, burial vaults, flowers, programs, etc.)
Oversee preparation and embalming of deceased
Maintain necessary embalming records
Prepare deceased for visitations and funerals (dressing, casketing, cosmetizing, etc.)
Oversee transportation of deceased out or state or internationally
Provide transportation of deceased to offsite locations for funeral or memorial services
Address minor customer issues
Develop and maintain positive working relationships with vendors, cemetery caretakers, local officials, and members of the community
Operate within the confines of any and all relevant state and federal laws
Other necessary duties assigned by the funeral home manager
