Director / Embalmer

Full Job Description
We are in search of a Funeral Director/Embalmer or Intern to join our team. We are looking for you to be: self motivated, able to work independently, methodical and thorough with all tasks, forward thinking, accountable, trainable, responsible and professional.
This is a unique opportunity to serve a highly traditional clientele.

Minimum Requirements*
A valid driver's license with acceptable and insurable record.
A valid Louisiana state Funeral Director/Embalmers license, the ability to obtain one within 1 year of hire, or the ability to reciprocate a license from another state.
Knowledge of and compliance with all state, federal and local laws as they pertain to providing funeral goods and services to include FTC and OSHA
Embody utmost professionalism as you interact with our families, community and coworkers.
Attention to detail is required.
Multitasking ability is required.
Top notch leadership and interpersonal skills are required as you interact with coworkers, community and families in order to exceed family wishes and expectations.
Complete execution of all required paperwork which adheres to not only company policies but also applicable regulations.
Education
Completion of an accredited school of Mortuary as required by Louisiana State for licensure.
Experience
Funeral Director 1 year (preferred)
Embalming 1 year (preferred)

Griffin Funeral Home has been in business since 2009. We are privately owned. We serve Monroe /West Monroe. We serve approximately 500 families every year. We treat our customers like they are family. Part of our normal work is community involvement - we not only serve our community but we are part of it. We also own a Crematorium and service many other funeral homes.

Certificates of completion of a accredited mortuary school
