Jo Ann Brown
Jo Ann Brown currently resides in southeastern Wisconsin and is a social worker for community-based, non-profit palliative care and hospice service agency. She holds two master’s degrees, one in social work and the other in psychology. She is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of Wisconsin, is a member of the Academy of Certified Social Workers, and has advanced credentialing in Palliative and Hospice Care. She is very excited, yet humbled, to be an adjunct faculty member for Dallas Institute of Funeral Services because she enjoys collaborating with future funeral directors so they can provide sensitive and compassionate services to diverse family, groups, and cultures. Jo Ann teaches Funeral Service Sociology through the distance education/online curriculum. She enjoys spending time with her family – her husband, three grown daughters, and two grandchildren – which often involves thinking of creative (and safe) ways of maintaining social contact with others. She has also become a fan of the gifts that FaceTime and Zoom can provide.
