DeDe Willis was born and raised in Dallas, Texas. Upon graduating high school, DeDe immediately knew the path she wanted to take and enrolled in mortuary school. After obtaining her Associate of Applied Science degree, she began working under the leadership of Mr. Allen Gene Madison and has worked for Evergreen Memorial Funeral Home for the last 15 years. Determined to further her education, she acquired a Bachelor of Science in Management and later a Master of Public Administration.
DeDe received the CFSP (Certified Funeral Service Practitioner) designation in 2004. This national funeral service recognition program recognizes members who complete specialized academic and professional programs. Continuing education for this prestigious designation consists of at least 24 hours of continuing education.
Currently, she is a member of the National Funeral Directors and Morticians Association, 100 Black Women of Funeral Service, Pi Alpha Alpha Honor Society, National Association of Professional Women and the Lions Club International.
