I entered the funeral industry in 2007.  I was not “called”, as many are to this profession, but the rare ability to deal with death allowed me to help families with a subject that most people try to avoid thinking about.  After serving thirteen years as both a funeral director and embalmer, I was given the distinction of joining the faculty of Dallas Institute in 2020.  Not knowing at first if I even wanted to teach, I discovered I have a knack for it.

Funeral service is a bona-fide profession.  This important field requires professionals that have the rare combination of intelligence, creativity, and compassion.  It fills me with pride to play a part in developing students so they may enter their careers equipped to serve others during such a difficult time.
