Our Mission

Dallas Institute of Funeral Service is dedicated to providing quality education through transformative experiences and applied training to prepare leaders in the funeral service profession.

Location

Located in Dallas, TX, the college provides a dynamic educational setting enriched by its proximity to the vibrant Dallas-Fort Worth metro area. Students receive hands-on training and a comprehensive funeral service education from a dedicated faculty of experts. With a rich legacy and unwavering dedication to innovation, Dallas Institute continues to shape the future of funeral service professionals.

The college is easily accessible from most major freeways. Within a few minutes of the college are shopping centers, apartments, restaurants, churches, hospitals, other schools and colleges, a nationally recognized arts district, and the world-famous Mesquite Championship Rodeo.

Dallas itself has become an educational complex second to none and includes such institutions as Southern Methodist University, the University of Dallas, The University of Texas at Dallas, Texas A & M Health Science Center College of Dentistry, Baylor School of Nursing, Dallas Baptist University, six Dallas community colleges, Paul Quinn College and a number of other colleges and universities within a fifty-mile radius of Dallas, making it a mecca for the enterprising student.

The Dallas Institute of Funeral Service has a rich and storied history dating back to the turn of the century. One of the earliest schools of embalming in the United States, particularly in the South and Southwest, was founded in Dallas, Texas, initially known as the Barnes School of Anatomy.
